How Does the Corner Defence Strategy Function?
The more important variants of the Corner Defence system come with a straight-up wager and four corner bets, and there is another one that includes two straight-up bets besides eight corner bets. They are, therefore, known as multiple corners with AUD 5 and multiple corners with AUD 10, respectively. Let's look at each of them in more detail below:
Multiple Corners with AUD 5:
First of all, any number in the second column of the roulette table should be selected. The number has to be in the second column to make four corner bets around that selected number. For example, if you pick 17. The four corner bets would be 13-17, 14-18, 16-20, and 17-21. Place AUD 1 each on each corner. The overlapping bets make a difference to the number of possible winnings.

The probability of success with this setup is 24.32%. Let’s look at the possible outcomes:
- Outcome 1: If the winning number is 13, 14, 18, or 20, the prize will be +AUD 4 because these numbers don’t overlap with more than one corner. The likelihood of this result is 10.81%.
- Outcome 2: If number 16 comes up, the net profit will be +AUD 13, as it intersects two corners. The chance of this result is 16.22%.
- Outcome 3: If the winning number is 17, this brings in a net profit of +AUD 67 due to winning both the straight-up and four corner bets. The probability of this outcome is 2.7%.
Multiple Corners with AUD 10:
This version is similar to the first, but it involves placing two straight-up bets in the second column, separated by one number, which offers wider corner coverage. For example, if you select 17 and 23, you would place corner bets on 13-17, 14-18, 16-20, 17-21, 19-23, 20-24, 22-26, and 23-27.

With this distribution, the overall success rate is 40.54%. There are three possible outcomes:
- Outcome 1: If the winning number is 14, 16, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, or 26, the net profit will be +AUD 8 by hitting a corner that isn't overlapped.
- Outcome 2: If number 20 is the winner, the net profit will be +AUD 26, as it intersects four corners.
- Outcome 3: Winning one of the straight-up bets on either 17 or 23 will generate a net profit of +AUD 62 by combining the straight-up and corner wins.
Drawbacks of the Corner Defence Strategy
This system is similar to flat betting but now allows for adjustment in the size of the bets placed. Hence, it's a strategic way of managing risks and protecting your bankroll. Both variants can be used in alternation with each other in order to recover losses. A good example is where, if you lose with the AUD 5 version, you shift to multiple corners with AUD 10, which increases the chances of recovering the loss and making +AUD 3 gain before reverting to the AUD 5 system.
